Dominique Koribana

Dominique Koribana grew up in New York City and majored in commercial art in the 1960's. After serving in the military, he moved to the west coast in the early 1970's where he began his welding career. Dominique worked as a professional welder for nearly 30 years in shipyards, petrochemical plants and numerous other industrial settings around the country before returning to California in the 1990's to pursue his original interest in art. Having worked so many years with metal, Dominique was able to combine his unique professional expertise with his love of art through Contra Costa College's sculptural welding program. While he is partial to working with stainless steel, Dominique continues to explore other creative interests including neon art, copper enameling, video documentary and digital art photography.
